The Importance Of Good Manners

This is Saiesh Gaude from F.Y.B.com C and I like to share my views on the topic "The Importance Of Good Manners".


It has been rightly said 'Manners Makes a Man'. A person who has no manners, has no place in society. Such a person can never live with his fellow human beings in peace and harmony. Examples of good manners are endless, and we can but take a few, from our daily life. When spoken, every service done, is done with pleasure and not grudgingly. So also 'Excuse Me' and 'Sorry' take the sting out of any hurt done unintentionally in our daily rush.

Pushing and shoving is fun when playing with one's friends, but extremely bad manners in public transport. It is as important for us to catch the bus,as it is for the next person. And once seated in the bus, it is unthinkable for a youngsters today, to stand up and give his/her seat to an elderly person.

Just when it is your turn to served at the counter of a store, or at the ticket counter of a booking office, a rude, loudmouthed person will shove his money in front and his booming voice will announce his requirements. What then, is the purpose of a queue if no one has the manners to stand in a line and wait their turn? It has been many a person's experience to wait for couple of hours in a doctor's reception, when a rude, brash person just walks in as the door is open, before the next patient's name is called out.

We may think, that good manners are extinct, going on the general trend, but this is not so. A person with good manners is a person to be respected and liked in the society. Such a person will always be welcomed and treated with respect. Our good manners can set an example to others, after all people always tend to imitate a person who is looked up to by all. Good manners, last but not least, reflect our family life and values.
